What Makes My Ceremonies Different?

As well as being Britain’s favourite celebrant*, I'm a best-selling author, former comedy agent, BBC broadcaster, and (whisper it) a practising witch who believes ceremonies are magical moments that mark transformation, and should be joyful, moving collective experiences, not dull presentation to endure before getting to the pub.

My ceremonies blend personalised storytelling with elements of folklore, magic, and ritual. It could be a subtle as crystal in your pocket, or we could dial it up a little bit with a handfasting, or lean all the way in - burning mugwort, casting a circle, calling in the elements. It’s entirely up to you.

I’m not a pagan or a druid. Don’t worry about ‘believing in’ anything - you may, you may not, you may have questions. In any circumstance, you are allowed to be entertained, to be comforted, and to commemorate the biggest moments in your life using the same abundant tools and language that have been used for millenia the world over (without cultural appropriation).

Expect metaphor, wonder, whimsy, celebrating the human and the more-than-human. I work with couples and families who love theatre, literature, music, and aren't afraid of a bit of dramatic flair.

I'm Welsh and speak Welsh (Cymraeg), so I'm perfect for anyone wanting to weave Welsh language, history, or folklore into their ceremony. I'm also sober and child-free by choice, making me especially well-suited to sober gatherings and child-free or child-friendly celebrations alike.

I’m based in Bristol, and I cover the South West, from South Wales to London, and everywhere in between. From Arnos Vale Cemetery to the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog), Clifton Suspension Bridge to Memorial Woodlands Thornbury.

I’m originally from Bala in North Wales with links in Cornwall, Manchester, Edinburgh, and beyond. So wherever you want your ceremony, if it’s an ancient chapel, a Woodland ceremony, manor house, gothic cemetary,, or a back garden on a windswept seaside coastline, I’m there.
